      Does my phone support eSIM?

Check in 10 seconds before you buy. Your phone must support eSIM and not be locked to one carrier.

*#06#Type this in your phone's dialer. If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.

      iPhone

      • iPhone XR, XS and newer support eSIM.
      • Settings › General › About: look for EID or "Digital SIM".
      • Unlocked? On the same screen, "Carrier Lock" should say "No SIM restrictions".

      Android

      • Settings › Connections (or Network & internet) › SIMs.
      • If you see "Add eSIM" or "Download a SIM", you're good to go.
      • Not sure it's unlocked? Ask your home carrier.

Some phones sold in certain countries (for example mainland China) don't support eSIM, even if the same model does elsewhere.

      Install in two minutes

Install over Wi-Fi before you fly, then switch the eSIM on when you land.

      iPhone

      1. Settings › Cellular (or Mobile Data) › Add eSIM.
      2. Choose Use QR Code and scan the code from your email.
      3. Label it "Travel" and use it for mobile data.

      Good to know

Everything you need to know before you buy, install and travel.

      Before you buy

      What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of buying a plastic SIM at the airport, you scan a QR code and your phone downloads the mobile data plan. You can install it before your trip and switch it on when you land.

Will it work on my phone?

Your phone needs two things: it must support eSIM, and it must be unlocked (not tied to your home carrier). The quickest check is to dial *#06#: if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM. iPhone XR, XS and newer support eSIM, and so do many recent Android phones. Some models sold in certain countries, such as mainland China, don't. See all the ways to check.

Should I choose fixed data or unlimited?

Fixed data plans (for example 3 GB or 5 GB) are the cheapest choice if you mainly use maps, messaging, email and social media. Unlimited plans suit you better if you stream video, make lots of video calls or work online. If you're not sure, start with a fixed plan: you can always buy another one during your trip.

      Country plan or regional plan?

If you're visiting one country, a country plan is usually the best price. If you're crossing borders, an Asia, Europe or Global plan covers several countries with one eSIM, so you don't need to buy a new plan in each country.

      Are calls and texts included?

Most plans are data only. You can still call and message over the internet with apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime or Messenger. Some plans for the UK, the United States and our Global plan also include call minutes and SMS. Where that's the case, it's shown on the plan.

      Buying and delivery

      How do I pay?

After you choose a plan and enter your email, you pay on our secure checkout page, powered by Whop. All prices are in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the amount.

When will I get my eSIM?

Your QR code and installation steps arrive by email at the address you use at checkout. The email comes from our eSIM provider, so check your spam or promotions folder if you can't see it. Lost your QR code? Contact us and we'll help you.

      When does my plan start?

Your plan's days usually start counting when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy or install it. So you can buy and install it a few days before you fly.

Can I keep my WhatsApp and home number?

Yes. Your regular SIM stays in your phone. The eSIM only handles mobile data, so WhatsApp keeps your usual number, and you can still receive texts on your home SIM (your home carrier may charge for roaming calls and texts).

      Installing and using

When should I install the eSIM?

Install it before you travel, while you're on a stable Wi-Fi connection. Scan the QR code in your phone's settings and follow the steps. An eSIM can usually be installed only once, so don't delete it until your trip is over. See the install steps.

How do I switch it on when I land?

Choose the Travelindo eSIM as your line for mobile data, and turn on data roaming for that line. To avoid charges from your home carrier, keep data roaming turned off on your home SIM.

What if I run out of data?

Buy another plan for your destination on this site. You'll get a new QR code by email, which installs the same way as your first one.

My eSIM isn't connecting. What should I do?

First check that data roaming is turned on for the eSIM line and that it's selected for mobile data. Then switch airplane mode on and off, or restart your phone. If it still doesn't work, email us with your order email address and we'll help you.

      How do I contact you?

Contact us at . Include the email you used to order so we can find your eSIM quickly.
